WINTER NEWS

Although autumn indulges us with nice temperatures and epic mountain views a thrill of anticipation is in the air. Soon, our mountains gonna be covered in snow and we think we are able to smell this snow. It sounds weird, but every local in Saalbach reckons to be able to smell the white gold.

Because we are so happy welcoming winter, we celebrate the arrival with special events. Of course, we are in Saalbach and parties appertain to the village in the Austrian Alps.

We start with Rock’n’Roll sounds. Loud and hot. The 4th BERGFESTival changes Saalbach into a big fat stage where legendary bands like “Wolfmother” or “La Brassa Banda” guarantee a wanton mood. From 2. - 4.12.16 music on the main stage and quite a lot of bands on smaller venues make this festival unique for winter enthusiasts and music fans.
Sounds nice.

Some days later we change guitars into turntables and laptops. Rave on Snow is an event with history in Saalbach. First introduced in the early 90ies the event is known as absolute highlight in the electronic music scene.
Over 3 days the best electro-sound is served and from 8. - 11.12.2016 big players of the scene like Carly Craig, Oliver Koletzki, Moonbootica, and many more turn the crowd upside down.

Until the next big event pistes in perfect condition ensure skiing fun over 270 kilometres of pistes. In Saalbach we are able to guarantee snowy slopes because we are able to prepare 90% of the pistes with manmade snow.

On 13th January the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn turns sportive. Ski mountaineers from all over the world battle for the fastest time at the 19th Mountain Attack. The Marathon discipline guides the athletes over 40 kilometres from summit to summit and feature over 3.000 metres in height.
In this competition everybody is a winner. Also our Gunter as a fanatic ski mountaineer joins the race.

WINTER NEWS IN THE SKICIRCUS

12er Express

We like comfortable rides with cable cars. That’s why we build this season 2 new lift stations.
The 12er Express is a new 10-seater cable car and connects the Zwölferkogel and the lifts in the area of the Westgipfel. The shortest and most modern lift in the Alps of Austria.

Schönleitenbahn

Everybody knows the white cable car at the entry of the village. This remnant will be newly built this season. A modern 10-seater cable car by the company Doppelmayr, with a capacity of 3200 guests per hour, replaces the old Schönleitenbahn in Saalbach and is ready for guests all over the world in december.

Speicherteich Asitz 2

New reservoir with a capacity of about 74,000 cubic meters at the Asitzbahn mid station in Leogang. Snow making occurs on all main slopes - so great conditions are guaranteed until spring. Besides its great atmosphere as well as its varied slopes, the Skicircus shines with snow guarantee too.

As you can see, Saalbach is special and famous for the winter season. It’s all go.
