Review: MINI meeting

The guests are well-known faces. Reunioning with these friends is a joy, every year anew. A major event in a scene with individualists. A sporty touch combined with childish playfulness describe this scene. MINI fans from all over the world enjoy the last weekend of June in the Salzburger Land and the surrounding Tyrol to live out their hobby. In this area the pass roads wind themselves promisingly upward and the participants experience go-kart feeling in such a light car.

DAY 1

After a welcome evening on the first day, there was a ride to Großarl on the following day. But rainy weather made the start into this ride tedious. Rain, as in MINI’s country of birth, accompanied the group for some miles. But as time went by the clouds made their way for the sun and provided a great journey into the Pongau, a region in Salzburg. Before that, the tires squeaked at the Aberg parking lot where the annual slalom took place.

The next stop was in Großarl, more precisely at the Großarler Hof. A small luxury hotel with tradition and sensational cuisine. After enjoying the pleasures of the kitchen, the surprise was not long in coming.
Suddenly we heard strange sounds!

With his yodelling course, Toni elicited many lovely sounds from the participants' throats. Occasionally interrupted by the laughter of the audience. After these amusing #evamoments we went back to Saalbach in the eva,VILLAGE, where the growling stomachs were soothed with "Reindl-Essen" in the evening. And so "Day 1" came to an end.

DAY 2

Tyrol is calling. More precisely the Waidringer Steinplatte. A steep driveway to the majestic plateau, ideal to ride the "serpentines" with the light MINI. The goal of this alpine trip was an alpine pasture. But instead of the expected rest, it became sporting. Very sporting. As in the "Strongman Competitions" of this earth, the MINIs were pulled - with pure muscle power. No rest for the laughter those days. But the funny MINI-pulling made hungry and so the delicious spinach dumplings tasted even better on the rustic Stallenalm. As dessert, the obligatory MINI-Quiz was served.

Completely satisfied, the group started the journey home. The ragtops among the MINIs had now a decisive advantage - the sun was a constant companion on the way home to Saalbach. In the evening it was getting very American in the eva,ALM. The smoker already heated hours before the BBQ delicacies were served. Of course with the smoky aroma of this grill variant. During the prize-giving of host Hans a surprise guest visited the hustle and bustle. The yodel "Toni" paid a visit to the meeting and solemnly presented the earned yodel certificates. In addition to the LIVE music, our guest Ilse provided an impressive acoustic performance. "One moment in time" - fits perfectly to such "moments".   
And so the evening and also the MINI meeting 2017 slowly came to an end.
The next morning, most of the participants headed home, strengthened by the breakfast with all sorts of treats.
What remains are great memories and the impatient anticipation of 2018. As a bridging to the next meeting, we can offer you a cocktail tip.

RECEIPE TIP: eva, Flitzer

• 4 cl Gin
• 2cl eva, rosemary syrup Juice of half a lime
• 8cl soda water
• 8cl Tonic Water   

Gin, eva, rosemary syrup and juice of half a lime with ice vigorously shaken. Then add water and soda water. Garnish with rosemary pastry and lime zest.
