The “Panorama-Alm” in Saalbach is a very popular destination for locals and visitors alike. It is particularly easy to access for eva,paradise guests, as it is located on the “Kohlmais” mountain in the immediate vicinity of the hotels eva,village and eva,garden. Simply take the “Kohlmaisbahn” and the “Panorama” chairlift up the mountain before taking either the piste no. 52 (“Maisabfahrt”), no. 53 (“Asterabfahrt”), or no. 55 (“Panoramaabfahrt”) to the “Panorama-Alm” at an altitude of 1,650 metres above sea level. As passionate hunters, the Röck family manufactures many of its products in-house, such as the famous deer sausage and smoked deer meat. Bacon and Pinzgau farmhouse cheese is also manufactured by the family. A tip to prevent muscle soreness is the homemade marmot ointment, which soothes joints and muscles.
Before we cap off a day on the slopes in Saalbach’s world-renowned après ski scene, we take a little detour to Hinterglemm to pay a visit to the “Wieseralm”. Located next to the “Reiterkogelbahn” (lift no. 47), the ski hut exudes elegant splendour. It not only serves refined dishes and fine wines, but also offers products from its own farm. The beautiful sun terrace invites guest to linger. It’s easy to forget skiing altogether up here.
All foodies really need to visit the “Rosswaldhütte”. Located between the “Reiterkogel” and the “Hochalmlift” in Hinterglemm, this hut, run by Sepp and Marianne Hasenauer, specialises in local delicacies such as homemade roast pork, fabulous “Kaiserschmarren”, and homemade cakes. Naturally, one shouldn’t forget to order a nice glass of wine to complement the meal.
The ultimate way to cap off the perfect day of skiing is a visit to the eva,alm, which is located right next to the eva,village hotel in Saalbach’s pedestrian zone. This is the place to see and be seen - trendy style, excellent local delicacies and wines, and - it goes without saying - a great atmosphere on the eva,alm terrace. What more could the heart of a winter sport enthusiast yearn for?
