Hiking in Saalbach

Hiking and mountains belong to Saalbach ... that’s obvious… Saalbach is located amid the Austrian Alps. After all, where else can you find more than 400 km of hiking trails and four summer cable cars, which comfortably carry guests up to 1,000 meters above the ground. Where you find mountain air and far-sightedness.

This means that you can start your hiking trip on the highest points and also the satisfied way back to the valley protects the joints. Nice - that's how it should be. Saalachtaler hiking path

This hike is certainly one of the most beautiful far and wide and surprises with views over Saalbach and beyond to the Hohe Tauern and to Leogang with the „Leoganger Steinberge“. Add to this the steady and majestic presence of the „Steinerne Meer“ in Saalfelden.
Meeting point for this tour is around 09:30 am at the reception in the eva,VILLAGE where Gunter is waiting for you. After an introduction the group will go directly to the new Schönleitenbahn, which has opened in summer 2018.
With this lift you hover in the truest sense of the word over grazing cows on the alpine meadows before the ascent ends at the summit.

LET'S START THE HIKE

Here starts the guided hike with a leisurely walk with Gunter along a trail towards Asitzgipfel. Two of the large storage ponds for technical snowmaking in the winter months also line the way along the route. A first "Bergheil" you will cheer at the Asitzkopf. After a short rest, we continue on a beautiful forest path back towards Seidlalm and Wildenkarhütte. At the Wildenkarhütte, snacks and an „high-altitude enriched beer“ are already waiting for the athletes. The perfect end to this 10 kilometer circular hike over the top of Saalbach. On the whole, you proudly climbed 350 meters in altitude on this tour with Gunter.

Back to the the valley takes you the Schönleitenbahn and from here back to the center of Saalbach to the eva,VILLAGE.
