In 1972, while Richard Nixon was in the process of winning the US presidential election with a large lead, the Glemmtal was considering growth in terms of tourism. At this time, "Greti" was running a cozy bed & breakfast with 14 rooms - ideally located and lovingly maintained.
Eva, her beautiful daughter who is always in good spirits and a born ski instructor, has, however, other plans. She bets all her money on a chair, thus purchasing her first massage chair in 1979.
She enchants her guests with soothing massages, as well as her knowledge of cosmetics and beauty. After a lot of hard work, she is in a position to proudly open her own studio in a 12 square metre garage in 1981. The beauty business is booming in the 1980s, a time when the likes of Madonna and Jane Fonds were role models. Yet another story begins at the same time. Hans, a passionate dancer, waltzed into Eva's life and took her heart by storm. The common passion - to dance, to live, and to work with people - connects.
Their love for each other was made official in 1988 and Daniela, their daughter, was born soon thereafter. From that moment on, the long nights on the dancefloors of Saalbach were replaced with sleepless nights in the nursery. All their energy is henceforth devoted to the family.
In 1997, some of that energy is needed for the restructuring of the family business. Now the overriding motto is "Vitality, Healthy Lifestyle, and Well-Being". The hotel was subsequently renamed to "Gartenhotel Eva".
New name, new concept! Eva herself remained faithful to her passion and opened her own perfumery in 2003 - an opulent celebration marked the milestone. That same year, Hans was elected chairman of the tourist board and henceforth not only dedicated himself to the development of the company, but also to the tourism interests of Saalbach Hinterglemm.
In 2006, the Unterkofler family fulfilled another lifelong dream. The "Ingonda" hotel was put up for sale and it was love at first sight - a new task requiring hard work and the implementation of fresh ideas born from experienced minds. On the 22nd of September, the purchase agreement was signed and the eva,VILLAGE was born.
In 2009, the family decided to expand their business yet again. Located in the pedestrian zone and directly next to the eva,VILLAGE, the eva,ALM brings the ski hut atmosphere to the village - coolly decorated and professionally managed! At this point in can't come as a surprise that it didn't take long for the next change to come along. Daniela, the daughter who is as beautiful as her mother and as sharp as her father, completed her MBA in 2012 and decided to inject her creative spirit, fresh ideas, and jolliness into the family business. The Unterkofler family - united by passion, zest for life, and a special sense for the beautiful things in life - invest all their power and energy in the business. The only permanent companion through all the years of development and change was the smile triggered by every new idea!
